Cookie Policy

This policy explains the categories of cookies and similar technologies used on the website and how visitors control them.

What cookies are

  1. Cookies are small files or identifiers stored or read by a browser or device. Similar tools include pixels, local storage and software development kits.
  2. The production website must maintain an accurate cookie inventory. Generic wording does not replace a scan of the live site and its third-party tags.

Cookie categories

CategoryPurposeConsent approach
Strictly necessarySecurity, load balancing, language, consent storage, authentication and requested transactions.Used where necessary to provide the requested site function.
PreferencesRemember optional display, language or usability choices.Ask for consent where required.
AnalyticsMeasure traffic, page performance, campaign attribution and service improvement.Do not load before consent where applicable.
MarketingMeasure advertising, build audiences or personalize campaigns across sites.Require clear opt-in where applicable; provide withdrawal.

Consent controls

  1. The cookie banner must offer a genuine choice. Rejecting non-essential cookies should be as easy as accepting them.
  2. No pre-ticked option or bundled course-enrollment consent should be used for optional analytics or marketing cookies.
  3. Visitors must be able to reopen cookie settings and change their choice. Necessary cookies should be explained even where they cannot be disabled through the banner.

Cookie list and retention

  1. The website must publish the cookie or provider name, purpose, category, first or third party, and duration. The list should update when tags or providers change.
  2. Cookie duration should be no longer than needed. Marketing and analytics identifiers should be reviewed regularly and deleted or shortened when the purpose can be met with less data.

Browser controls

  1. Visitors may also delete or block cookies through browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent login, enrollment or preference functions from working correctly.
